Consumers Prefer Best Hybrid Over Electric

According to a recent survey , consumers in the US prefer the best hybrid vehicle to a fully electric model. 58% of drivers said they were in favor of battery-powered vehicles to replace traditional gas-powered cars, but that they weren't ready to give up gas altogether.
71% said they favored a plug-in hybrid vehicle over an all-electric one, due to concerns about range, limited charging infrastructure and convenience of the dual-propulsion power train. The shift to a plug-in hybrid requires fewer changes to current driving habits and is thus less inconvenient for most people. GM cited similar findings when it decided to develop its first plug-in hybrid over an all-electric model like the Nissan Leaf. Volkswagen also recently announced that it will develop a new range of plug-ins, but BMW has decided to go the pure EV route.
