Zipcar For All!

Our friends at Jalopnik have written about something I wanted to write about before, Zipcar. If you are unfamiliar with Zipcar, here's the idea in 5 words: Car rentals by the hour. Up until now they've only been available in big cities (I signed up to use it in an emergency here in NYC) but now, according to Jalopnik, colleges have signed up to get into the Zipcar dealie. Man, that's a great idea. Back when I was in college it would have been great to have access to a car. Well, cars weren't around so much back then, but it would have been great to have access to a horse and buggy.

Man, Zipcar is expensive. You pay for two hour what you pay at Enterprise for a day.
Besides such short term car rentals are an old hack in Europe. They are common in most colleges but their best know feature is that cars are standing stale mate in the position they were left – there is simply no real demand.
