Those of us who appreciate hot hatchbacks just got another reason to envy the Europeans, who already have a lavish feast from which to choose. Renault is launching its new Clio Renault Sport with "Formula 1-inspired" aerodynamics that include a first-in-class functional rear diffuser generating 88 pounds of downforce at highway speeds. Of course, the French company knows something about downforce… its F1 race cars are world champions and currently lead this year's series. A 2-liter, 16-valve engine provides more than enough urge with 195 hp on tap. Connected to a close-ratio 6-speed gearbox, it delivers 0-62 mph acceleration in 6.9 seconds.
