Albers Upside Down

This upside-down fellow is Christijan Albers, after being shunted onto the grass in the opening lap of the San Marino grand prix. The shunter was 31-year-old Japanese driver Yuje Ide, whose brief F1 career may soon come to an abrupt halt. Ide's a good racer, but he was pushed into racing's top ranks by team owner Aguri Suzuki in an effort to quickly build an all-Japanese F1 team. Suzuki, formerly a pioneering Japanese F1 driver of moderate talents, has Honda backing and Honda engines plus one experienced driver in Takuma Sato, but in F1 it takes more than a few million yen to win races. Rumour has it that Honda test driver Anthony Davidson could take Ide's seat.
