Volkswagen Passat Puts on a Brave New Face

You may not recognise it at a glance but this is a Passat, folks. It's equipped with an appearance package derived from the Passat R GT concept unveiled last November. The kit includes redesigned front and rear fascia, honeycomb grille, side skirts, tailgate lip, new exhaust tips, 18-inch titanium-coloured Alloy Wheels, 225/45 Pirelli high-performance tires, and performance lowering springs. Manufacturer installed, it will cost you an extra $4500 but the various parts can be bought from a VW dealer. The engine does not get any mods. It looks great and, at least in a small way, helps counter the incredibly stupid US marketing decision to rebadge the new Golf as "Rabbit." Dumb, dumber, dumbest. Quit while there's still time!
