There are certain perceived constants in life that provide reassurance to our human experience. The sun rises and sets. The four seasons. The tax man. And Porsche's 911.
In the entirety of its Beetle descendant, post-war history, the Porsche 911 has offered the sportscar enthusiasts of the world a third way between front and mid-engine setups. The rear mounted, flat-six cylindered, bug-eyed Teutons are more iconic and instantly recognizable than most any car ever made.
So when Porsche reintroduced us to the panorama roofed Targa last year, it stood as yet another reassuring testament to the continuum of our existence. And to boot, the current (997 body) is the splendid marriage of the 993 and 996 chassis 911s. And it's showcased very nicely in the following (1:26) trailer.

The targa Porsche looks very elegant, I just hope the chassis is rigid unlike a convertible sports car.
