Video > Jeep Goes Rock Climbing

Thank goodness for the lifeline. No, really. In this (1:46) video, the driver attempts to scale an improbably steep rock face in a kitted-out jeep wrangler that ends up leaning backwards – downslope – on three slipping tyres. The fourth, driverside front spins uselessly in the air.

Somewhere between takes, the driver's spotter crew act their namesake by catching the fact that this Jeep could easily capsize and will do so without anchoring. Someone smartly ties a line from the chassis to a sturdy tree nearby.

It had to be a harrowing experience from the driver's seat; retreat would've been a daunting prospect at best and success must have seemed improbable. Ah, but not impossible
