The New York Times announced the winner of their Collectible Car of the Year Award.
The paper held a contest that resulted in 558 readers cars entered. The paper asked Automobile magazine to choose their 30 top pick. The 30 tops went to readers to judge. After 4,500 ballots were counted – somewhat of a surprise. Brooklyn's Gavin Rhodes won the plaudits and 5 grand with his Triumph TR3A which was built from 1957 through 1961. Looks like there is some renewed interest in British sports cars!
Rhodes paid $4,300 for the car 15 years ago.
For some unknown reason the Times rejected john mccain's entry.
