Training

AutoWeek reports: Land Rover expanding driving schools in effort to attract buyers, promote used vehicles. I gotta say, I applaud this. I know it has a lot to do with marketing, and of course the wealthy can pay for it all already, but it's still the right way to go about making sure the vehicles are used properly. We'd like to see other, maybe most, manufacturers do this same thing: train people to drive its cars. Now I know you're thinking, "But, Bob, we all learned to drive, why do we need more training?" My take is that cars are different today. SUVs are far heavier and more prone to rollover, sports cars have far more horsepower than they used to. Other technological advanced like stability control and anti-lock brakes have changed the way we drive and how the cars of today handle, so advanced training is necessary in order to learn how to use these vehicles properly. And safely.
