Superior Civic

Superior Civic

I've gone on and on about the new Civic to pretty much anyone who will listen. It's simply a marvelous car. And like reviewer John Pearley Huffman writes, I'd certainly consider one if I was in the market for a new car. This time around, Mr. Huffman reviews the 2006 Civic Si and goes on and on about it. Boy does he go on! But, it's a very good read because he includes a bit of history about the model and I'm sure you'll find it quite interesting. Also of note is whether Mr. Huffman actually buys one because, in his words, "After the last Civic Si it seemed that Honda had lost its way. They've definitely re-acquired the path and this is the best sporting Civic of all time. The only questions now are: Is that enough? And, will I buy one this time?" You'll have to click through to find that out. Meanwhile, has anyone reading here bought an '06 Civic? What do you think?

Bob, the new Civic is a fine car, we own a 2005, it’s great. But the new Civic’s dash is just too Star Trek for me. And as for the Si, don’t believe the hype. It’s got 197 hp, but only 138 lb ft of torque. So unless you love revving up near the red line all day, it’s not got any usable power. Like the much hyped S2000 and Acura RSX, there is no torque and there are faster less expensive competitors like the Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged. It’s a nice car, but it’s not spectacular.
