South Africa Gets MPV That Should Come Here

This, in my opinion, is one sweet-looking automobile. It's a Seat Altea semi-APV (all purpose vehicle). It is also described by its creators as "a mini-MPV whose driving dynamics make it feel more like a car." Hmmm… where have I heard that one before?
Seat, for the benefit of my fellow North Americans, is a Spanish automaker owned by Volkswagen. It produces a range of cars on VW platforms which, for the most part, lean towards the sporty end of their segments. Does Seat sound like Fiat? The company was originally owned by Fiat, producing near-identical economy cars for the Spanish market. I rented several during holiday visits to Spain in the 70's.
Seat, under VW leadership, is an entirely new animal. And now is spreading its wings in South Africa as this New Zealand site reports. For us folks in Canada and the USA it's one more example of how we are denied an opportunity to own an interesting auto because of marketing complexities and government regs.
