Save Gas or be Terminated

Is it EcoDriving or EgoDriving? The headlines read something like this:"Gov. Schwarzenegger joins forces with auto industry to help drivers save money on gasoline".
While I, and you probably too, can agree we are all wanting to save money on gas. But, statements like that just rip to my core. Do you really believe the auto industry cares about how much gas we consome? The statements made by Gov. Schwarzenegger and auto-buddies suggest that if EVERYONE would maintain their cars properly, we could cut down on the toxins we put into the air, BE more fuel efficient, AND save money.
Give me a break! how many of us are going to change our car maintenance patterns? But the big thing here is, the auto industry doesn't really care about us saving money, they are here to sell cars. And instead of thinking we are gullible, why don't they MAKE a fule efficient car.

This is just the prelude to making older cars illegal. California has been moving towards putting an age limit on cars for a few years now as part of a pact with automakers to reduce emissions: they’ll agree to tighter CA-only emissions standards if the state will generate new buyers by making it impossible to hold on to old cars.
This problem is almost unique to California, where cars don’t rot away to nothing on their own, and emissions are seen as the worst problem.
