Saturn Looks to Germany For Future Products

Saturn's future is very much tied to Opel, says Business Week, as Opel platforms and running gear will provide the basis for all upcoming Saturns. This is probably one of GM's better ideas, as long as new products are used and not an Americanised version of an older design, such as the none-too-successful and now discontinued Saturn L-series. The Aura, though shown as a concept, is an example of what could come from the Saturn-Opel marriage. It features a a 250-horsepower 3.6L DOHC V-6, 6-speed automatic with manual shift controls, head curtain side-impact air bags, side-impact thorax air bags, ABS with traction control and an electronic stability control system.
