Saab USA Embraces The Giving Spirit

Saab is keen on publicly placing value on customer loyalty. From dealer service departments welcoming the folks who bring in their 80s 900 convertibles, to those who bought their first 9-3 this year because they were happy that Saab finally made a sedan rather than a hatchback (not a personal viewpoint, mind you).

So when Saab USA announced recently that they would reward customers who put 1,000,000 original miles on their respective Saabs with the gift of a brand new Saab 9-5 Aero sedan, ears perked and hearts fluttered amongst the faithful of Party Saab.

So far one gentleman - Peter Gilbert, owner of a 900SPG with the requisite mileage - has won the vehicle. In fact, it was his publicized feat of passing the mark that prompted Saab USA's magnanimity to other owners of cars with equal or higher mileage.

According to the Saab fan extraordinaire - Swade @ Trollhattan Saab - there is but one owner that might be the second recipient. But the Saab model in question only has 685,000+ miles on the odometer (as reported in 2003). I bet a circuitous trip around North and South America is in the works.
