The name Rolls-Royce draws lots of associations, but mass quantity is not one of them.
That's why it's a big deal to the smallest of BMW's British subsidiaries each time it opens a new dealership – or "showroom" to use Rolls' own P.R. lingo. In this case, it's no less significant that Shanghai is to receive the new dealership.
"We are delighted to be here in Shanghai to open this new and larger showroom. It will cater for the increased demand for Rolls-Royce cars in the Shanghai area, which has grown steadily since we began our business here in 2003 in our earlier premises near the Bund Waterfront," said RR regional chief Colin Kelly.
Rolls-Royce also announced that the Chinese market stands as the third largest for the marque; behind the United States (No. 1) and the United Kingdom (No. 2).
And F.Y.I.: last year, the dealership to sell the highest number of Rolls-Royce was based in Beverly Hills.
