One Sweet Ride, 2006 Lotus Exige

Lotus, just saying the name make me think of coolness. Brings to mind fond memories of James Bond movies where mere mortal Lotus Esprit's turn into submarines with hot chicks in the passenger seats. Certainly the stuff of adolescent dreams. While the 2006 Lotus Exige is landlocked, cool it is without a doubt.

Just a look at the car and you can see it means business. Sure there are faster cars in a drag race and you can find rides that out run it on the track no doubt, but there is just something about the car that moves me...moves me to want to go back to school so I might actually be able to afford one. Kids this is the reason you go to medical school.

Svelte is a word that Lotus engineers must be familiar with. The Exige measures in at 149.5 x 68.1 x 45.6 inches with a 90.5" wheelbase. The curb weight is a mere 2000 pounds and the engine is a 1.8L, 190 hp, 138 ft-lb of torque Toyota sourced unit coupled to a 6-speed tranny. A sexy beast it is, and even sexier considering the MSRP is a darn near affordable $51,860! Maybe I don't need to go back to school after all. Anyone know what a kidney goes for these days?
