With rumors run wild over the prospect of DaimlerChrysler selling off the group's Chrysler division (back to "Daimler-Benz" for Stuttgart), the press went knocking to Carlos Ghosn's Renault-Nissan Group to inquire if they have any interest in buying the .5 of Detroit's "Big 2.5".
From Paris, it was a resounding "non!" From Tokyo, "いいえ!" (the same).
According to Renault's CFO, though Renault and Nissan are seeking a North American partnership (Read: Ford?), neither company had the desire to acquire any stake in the Chrysler Group.
Poor Chrysler. How fickle the automotive market (and Daimler) has become.
We @ 4DriversOnly still love you.
