New Alfa Coupe Marks a Return to Glory
When an automaker cuts the advertising budget it's usually because cash is needed to combat external marketing pressures. Not good, especially for ad agency employees. But here's a cut that actually makes sense. New Alfa Romeo CEO Antonio Barravalle says, "we have cut the budget for our Advertising campaign and will do the 8C instead, because it is a perfect way to promote the Alfa brand." Terrific. Alfa was one of the history's great marques and needs a great car to re-establish its image. Autoblog speculates that "the new 8C will follow the carbon fiber body/spaceframe chassis construction of the concept car, with a 440 hp V8 powerplant based on the current Ferrari-Maserati unit." The gorgeous-looking coupe will debut at the Paris Auto Show in September. In the unlikely event that you ever need an excuse to visit Paris, this should do it.
