Ford CEO Alan Mulally is on the record for saying that the Ford Motor Company does not need a global luxury division (read: scratch the Premier Auto Group). With the exception of North American-centric Lincoln, everything from Jaguar to Volvo must go.
Mazda stays because, "They are part of our plan going forward," he told theDetroit News(read: Mazda's a profitable, economy-based name).
It's all part of a "New Ford" that aims to downsize, eliminate redundancies, and keep things simple, according to Mr. Mulally. What, I wonder will that mean for the Mercury division?
