Honda's American car division has seen its first ever six-figure sales count for the month of January. 100,790 units found new U.S. homes last month, up from 98,394 sales for the same period one year ago.

The big H's popular midsize sedan Accord led the charge with 25,714; up 12% or 3,668 units from last year.

What Honda's P.R. department chose not to extrapolate on was the resoundingly negative figures in hybrid sales across the line; Hybrid Civics and Accords both showing sales figures declining 45.9% and 32.2%, respectively.

Luxury division Acura also showed weakness with January sales falling by 10.6% from last year's numbers.

Some good, some bad, that's life and it's Honda's record for January.
