MG Means "Modern Gentleman" Now

No longer "Morris Garages" of old. According to those savvy inquisitors over @ Top Gear, they've sussed out the fact that MG's current corporate parents - the executives at Nanjing Automotive - decided that the letters M & G should stand for "modern" and "gentlemen", respectively.

The logic apparently goes something like this - you are what you drive - so if you're a guy who's just bought a brand new MG straight off the assembly line in Oklahoma, you are likely to be thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. Or something of the kind.

Wait, no - that's if you buy a Ford Escape Hybrid.
