Buyers of the new Saab 9-3 Convertible have had a pretty slim range of choices when it came to choosing the color of the "rag" portion of their "ragtop". Actually, they had only two choices - black (standard) or blue (optional).
This relative beating from lack of choice left many bruised customers aching for more - specifically for the old sand colored top that appeared in the final years (93-94) of the original and beloved 900 convertible.
Well, Saab has said that it has bended to consumer demand (after 13 years) and restored the sand color top option. "Our customers and dealers alike asked us to bring back the sand ... so we did." Saab Marketing Manager Yanlin Sun said.
Expect to see sand-tops on Saab 9-3 convertibles this year. (Note the wimpy PR picture that GM released below).
