Lincoln Lying Low

Ugh, I hate Jason. He gets to go to car shows and I'm stuck in the rain. Or drizzle. Actually, it was fog here in Brooklyn.
Speaking of fog, I gotta chime in that, based on what was displayed at the Detroit auto show, I'm pretty disappointed in Lincoln. Out of all the luxury makers, Lincoln seems to be lost in the fog with no lighthouse to guide it back to the shores.
You see, Lincoln has a very small product line, several vehicles being trucks/SUVs. Their car lineup includes: Town Car (old), LS (potentially good, but left to whither) and Zephyr (a tarted-up fusion and hard to spell, too). Three cars? That's all Lincoln has? And, not for nothin' but the Town Car barely counts anymore. It's ancient and couldn't be more uninspired if they tried to make a lame car.
And Lincoln is changing its naming convention. From grand names that have history (Town Car, Continental) to letters like MKS that have no real meaning. Perhaps Lincoln is just trying to emulate the competition (LS 430)? Oh, Lincoln, it's not the name, it's the car!
I am beginning to doubt the future of Lincoln. It has no direction, no idea what a Lincoln really is and continual display that it doesn't know how to take care of a product (Lincoln LS could have been quite decent).
Do you think Lincoln has a future? If so, what will it be?

Miserable… with nothing for drivers. The LS was the last best hope to transform this division into something interesting. Now they can’t even compete with Buick.

Amen Bob, even though I like the looks of the new MKS and MKX, I agree with what you say. I loved the LS and TownCar, and hate the Mark LT.
Lincoln needs a real flagship model, not a tarted up 500 or Fusion, and certainly not a F150 with leather and chrome.
Heres a terrible thought.
How about 1 four door and perhaps a coupe. Both having outstanding quality and luxury because that is what they focused on?
Perhaps then they could compete with Avalon or Lexus.
