Less U Vs

On my morning walk to school I see people dropping their kids off at the local (and fancy) private school. Today, I counted four SUVs out of the six drop off vehicles, each one was dropping off one child. That's one child and one adult. Two people per SUV. Everyone was double-parked and traffic along the street was backing up… horns were honking, too. And I'm thinking… well, actually I was thinking, "It's freakin' cold!" (it was 15 degrees this morning). So I started thinking of vacation time and my past vacations. And I thought of Paris. Which, of course, leads me to the Smart Car. Big cities don't need more SUVs, we need more cars that fit. Paris was the first place I came across the Smart car and I totally fell in love with them. What a brilliant idea. Smart cars aren't ready for the U.S. market yet, but according to their website they are working on it. Now, I'm not claiming they're the right choice for everyone, but for a lot of the people in big cities where space is tight, the Smart car might be the smart choice.

Two thumbs up! I agree to that. I think that with more advertising and lots of Pr strategy, smart cars will definitely be bought by US consumers.
Well, without poser-mobiles, what would the typical ego-driven person use to bolster their lame self-esteem?
I truly feel sorry for people who think that the possessions that hold them (not the other way around) are what defines them.
We were born naked and with nothing, we leave earth with only our burial clothes.
You never see a U-haul behind a hearse!
So if we all buy rational vehicles, what will the ego-driven people use to bolster their lame self-esteem?
(Heavy sarcasm)
We came to earth naked with no possesions, and leave likewise. Nobody has a U-haul behind their hearse…
while i agree that there are way too many SUV’s out there, not all of us SUV owners are trying to compensate for something. I haul stuff, I tow stuff, I drive off-road, I use 4-lo.
I also don’t have a monster engine I don’t need, my 97 4runner with a 4cyl & 5spd does just fine, while getting 18 around town, 22-23 hwy.
A smart car would be the perfect 2nd (1st?) car for us though, we’d probably drive it 70% of the time.
