Jaguar Sales Plummet

Year to date comparative sales figures show that Jaguar has had an abysmal start to the year having sold a staggering 26.8% fewer vehicles Stateside this year than the luxury carmaker managed in 2006. This percentage represents a difference of more than 7,000 Jags that went undelivered.

Unfortunately, much of the Coventry Cat's sales decline is tied to the fact that the bulk of the marque's lineup is now stale. Entry-level models such as the X-Type and S-Type and the bread-and-butter XJ are all now widely regarded as outdated and in dire need of replacement. For the S-Type, the XF replacement whose concept premiered earlier this year can't come soon enough.

Just as troubling is the fact that the much adored new XK series has been unable to take up the slack.
