Idle Speculation Or Fact? Benz Might Drop A-Class

I know I wouldn't cry to see the line go, but speculation abounds as to what the Daimler Group's intentions with A-Class lineup of its Mercedes-Benz division will be in 2011.
According to an article site through the blogsite Autosavant, there may be a very real possibility that Mercedes will drop its econo-car lineup due to lackluster sales. But apparently, Daimler's people have refused to comment calling it all "idle speculation".
Speculation? Yes. Idle? No, I'd say it was in a forward gear.
