Green Party Demands 12 Cent Gas Tax

It's no laughing matter. The Canadian Green Party (depicted above) has the solution to "averting environmental catastrophe" a.k.a. global warming by introducing a[nother] new tax on petrol. Canadians already pay more on average for their gasoline than their neighbors south of the border.
Comparing their declaration to levy a 12 cent tax per liter tax on gas with former U.S. President Kennedy's bid to put a man on the moon, they claim that theirs is a lofty goal that would save the planet by taking money from all those wasteful motorists.
And remember, to do it will cost 12 cents per liter and not a penny less.
