Jaguar's XK grand touring two-door sports machine has received praise from the model's 2006 inception. Though, I've argued that the car is neither as graceful nor as predatorial as its predecessor - the XK8 - it's won this automotive writer's vote, nonetheless.

And it's won EVO's vote, too, for that matter. In a long term test, British car magazine praised Jaguar's halo car for being both economical - observed 26 miles per Imperial gallon (1 Imperial gallon = 1.2 US gallons) - and fast.

"'Love it' was [the] summary... 'The way you can be cruising serenely one minute, then you need to overtake and it kicks down so smoothly and boof! you're past.'"

If only this vehicular praise could translate into sales for the ailing British marque.
