If you're anything like me, you tend to put off Christmas shopping until the last moment. I think it's the hassle that bothers us most, which is why the Web is such a wonderful resource. You can order a gift without leaving your chair and have it delivered promptly, albeit without the wrappings most of us would avoid if we just had an excuse. Of course, you still have to make choices, so if you're buying a gift for a car enthusiast I can offer something that will help: videos and DVDs of car movies.
It comes from my About Classic Cars site so obviously these Top Ten films go back a few years but every one of them is thoroughly enjoyable. Some focus on a specific automobile while in others the car is a prop, albeit a fascinating and often elegant prop. This list was naturally subjective but I guarantee you'll spot a personal favorite and may even be tempted to order two, including one for yourself. Try Bullitt for the best chase scenes, Tucker for the best film about a car, Duel for the scariest.

I didn't mean to suggest that To Catch a Thief or A Man and a Woman were better car movies than the others on the list. It's very subjective and any of the films could rank number one, depending on your taste. Thanks for the suggestions... one of these days I'll do a follow-up.

what about the Italian Job (either the original or the remake), heart like a wheel, or gone in 60 seconds?
then you've got the cannonball movies.
i think there are some really good well known classics that are left out on such a short list.
