For the first time since… ever it seems (or 17 years say some) the trident marque has returned to profitability. In the second quarter this year, Maserati managed to squeak by with a profit of €1 million ($1.37 million).
During the same period last year, Ferrari's stablemate suffered a €7 million ($9.59 million) loss.
Credit for this year's profits are given to strong U.S. demand of the new Quattroporte Automatic (fitted with the six-speed ZF transmission that replaced the previous troubled gearbox).
The GranTurismo is also receiving strong interest from American buyers which helping boost Maserati's sales outlook from 7,600 cars this year to 8,000 in the next.
Bravo, Maserati e grazie America!
