GM’s Atlanta Adventure

Thanks to the kind folks at General Motors, I'm on my way to the airport today.

I'm flying over to Atlanta, Georgia, where I'll spend a few days getting to know the new Saab 9-5 and the GMC Yukon Denali, along with a couple dozen of my fellow automotive journalists. Now that I've been on a few of these junkets, I've learned how they work — the car company lures you to an attractive location with lots of possible activities, then keeps you so busy with their agenda that you might as well be in Cleveland (no offense to Cleveland, it's just not my vacation destination of choice). You get a great hotel room to rest your head between driving and engineering sessions, and little other down time. It actually eases some of the guilt I feel for letting a floundering little concern like GM foot the bill for my travel, food and lodging for a few days — I get to explore a few cars in focused detail, and get to ask the people who designed and engineered them what in the world they were thinking.

I'll give you a full report when I get back at the end of the week.

In the mean time — Happy Valentine's Day, car lovers! Give your car a hug.

I discoverd an auto news website where you can post your articles. It may drive more traffic to your website or get new readers.
