Fred Thompson Chooses Chevy Pickup For Campaign Trail
Well, we've heard of John McCain's "Straight Talk Express" which is actually a bus.
Now, another soon-to-be-announced Republican candidate for the U.S. presidency – former US senator and current Law & Order star Fred Thompson – is going to have his own highly publicized mode of transport – an old red Chevrolet pickup truck.
According to Politico.com, Senator Thompson has used this old vehicular appeal-to-the-great-silent-majority before.
"Organizers say the red pickup truck that was a hallmark of Thompson's first Senate race will begin showing up in Iowa and New Hampshire as an emblem of what they consider his folksy, populist appeal."
While the senator's automotive choice might not appeal to the Greenies, it sure beats the bus.
