Ford De-Capping

I always thought it was cool, when watching a NASCAR race, to see the gasman shoot SUNOCO Race Fuel into the car without twisting off a cap.
I guess Ford thinks it's neat too. When I looked at the new 2009 F-150 in Detroit last week it was sans gas cap.
The company is making good on a promise to eventually get rid of the gas caps on its entire line.
Ford is building on its nascar racing experience with the new capless system. A spring-loaded flap inside the filler tube automatically retracts when the gas nozzle is inserted.
Hope they do it within their Mazda divisions also. One of the banes of my existence is the gas cap on my MX5. If you don't close it just right, the check engine light goes on. It has to be turned off by Mazda. Sucks.
