It has been almost two years (and entirely too long) since MG Rover imploded and production in England ground to an ignominious halt. The former BMW subsidiary found life after the Blue Roundel too difficult as foreign competition stripped the British automaker of its own prized domestic market.
However when Nanjing Auto purchased the company and promised a worldwide production chain, MG Rover was effectively given a new lease on life. And now, much to the enthusiasm of the marque's fans, production in China has started. Reports are suggesting that the assembly line in England will also fire up this summer.
No indication about the Oklahoma plant, however.
Bully for MG!
