If you live in North America you won't be able to buy the new Fiat 500 but you'll still have an opportunity to help design it. Using a Fiat 500 minisite, the company wants to involve the public in the design and development of its new small car. According to Autoblog, the site is more than just an advertising vehicle. Based on the theme "500 Wants You" it includes stories and pictures about legendary 500's from the past, photos, and a "configuration lab" where visitors can work with models of the concept car. A "Designboom" contest offers a chance to win one of three prizes worth 5000 Euros (about $6300) each. In past years many visitors to Italy brought back fond memories of the 500, one of history's great "people's" cars, and who knows, perhaps someday we'll see the new one here.

Surely a good way of asking people what they want in a vehicle. This kind of move could help the Fiat be included in this list: http://spaces.msn.com/autobuzzer/blog/cns!B4DA1D84A38D9F48!238.entry
