Signaling Fiat SpA's rejuvenation, the little car that could has in fact won the European Car of The Year Awards for 2008. Exactly 58 journalists from 22 European countries gather each year to herald what they collectively think is the best designed and executed model for a given production year.
Fifty-seven of 58 journalists voted for the Fiat 500.
That Fiat's new and hugely popular 500 has won - by a Landslide - marks the first time the carmaker has taken European Car of The Year Award since the company's darker days back in 2004.
