EBay Motors Catch of The Day > Audi TT
spell Bauhaus.
Right, "Bauhaus"
"A" "U" "D" "I" "T" "T"
"Bauhaus"
Very good.
And it really is. Yes, the first generation Audi TT did share its platform with a VW Golf. And no, I don't care if the three door coupé couldn't handle worth a tinker's darn. It actually handled very well, just not well enough for all those pseudo-race car drivers that fill the print pages of the world's automotive mags with their self-important, nothing's-as-good-as-BMW carping.
This Bauhaus design on wheels is to be appreciated for what it is – an instant, thoroughly forward looking classic. When the TT premiered in the late 1990s, it showed the most conservative of the Teutonic big-three was also the most daring. Automotordom is full of these paradoxes – as it is in life.
This 2003 looks well preserved. S'got 52K on the clock. Manual trans. Priced to sell @ $19K. Life's good.
