Driving and prescription drugs

The first rule of driving is to drive safely. Over the past five decades there has been an increase in the use of prescription drugs and has proved effective in treatment of illness, injury, pain or other problems. Though these drugs can prove beneficial in recovery of the patient, at times it can lead to dependency on drugs, a habit which might be hard to kick.
There are several prescription drugs which might have a sedative effect which slows down reaction time and as a result makes driving risky. While driving on the road it is not just our duty to protect our life but also the lives of people around us.
30% road related deaths are a result of driving under influence and as a result several countries have made their traffic law strict to deal with it including heavy penalties and prison term.
So do consult your doctor before consuming prescription drug and getting on the road.
