I asked my wife if she'd consider buying a car with a diesel engine. She said she would. I asked her what she thought of when she thought of a diesel engine. She said she never, ever thinks about engines. But, in this case, she said diesels make her think of trucks. Now our veteran writing, Philip Powell, has tested his fair share of cars and many of them were diesels. I know he recently reviewed the 2006 Volkswagen Jetta and had heaps of praise for the car. Our mutual friend, Colin, also had compliment after compliment on the diesel Passat he tested. Have any of you tried out a diesel? Are you warming up to them?
