The 2010 Buick LaCrosse may be one of the most pivitol cars in the marque's long history. As a survivor of GM's massive brand cutting Buick needs to restablish itself in the upper middle-class market, showing that it can compete against offerings from Lexus, Mercedes, BMW, and the rest. The LaCrosse plays a critical role in this effort. I have yet to see one in the metal and photos can be misleading thus I'll withhold my opinion for the moment, while wishing Buick well. To help us appreciate the styling, the New York Times Wheels section offers this interactive design analysis. Just click on the link and you'll be able to get a description of the details simply by moving your cursor onto the various symbols. After doing so I was impressed with the way the designers had integrated styling hints from Buick's past. There's also an article linked from the page, which explains why the car was designed in China. If I wasn't before, I'm now looking forward to seeing the new LaCrosse on the road.
