Some of my fellow journalists have laughed at the above vehicle, assuming it represents the dreaded future of the automobile when electrical power takes over. Loosen up, guys! It's what happens when you ask some very creative people, in this case Mercedes trainees, to explore the most extreme ideas for future cars. Obviously such a vehicle will never be built but that's not the point. It's a time-warping fuel CELL concept dubbed "F-CELL Roadster." The heart of the vehicle is the Roadster's fuel cell powertrain, which has a power rating of 1.2 kilowatts, a top speed of 25 kph, and a range of 350 kilometers. More a bicycle than a car, it nevertheless explores how we might transport ourselves when power, speed, and range are less important when just getting there counts. Well done, guys.
