Cars, the Movie
I've seen so many bad car movies (and a few great ones) that the hype about the forthcoming film Cars has so far left me disinterested, to say the least. Especially since it's an animated movie. No, I'm not against animation; in fact, I wrote and helped produce the very first computer-animated car commercial. It was made at the Sikorsky Institute on Long Island for GM Canada and earned me a trans-Atlantic flight on the Concorde. But that's another story. Anyway, our friends at Autoblog seem to think that Pixar's Cars is going to be terrific, especially as some of the auto industry's design chiefs were involved in the making. So I'll set aside my prejudices and buy a ticket when it arrives at a cinema near me. And with luck I, too, will be back with a rave review.
