Boring is still the Best

The sixth generation Toyota Camry is a utilitarian car. Boring and bland it still gets the job done each day for millions of motorists who value its low maintenance, good gas mileage, high resale value and practicality.
So beloved is the Camry that for the past six years it has been the top selling car in America. Quite an honor when the mid size sedan class sports the hot selling Malibu, Accord, Altima, Fusion and Sonata. Formidable rival indeed.
Last month, Consumer Reports magazine named the Altima the top-ranked midsize sedan, followed by the Accord and then the Camry. The Malibu was voted Car of the Year at the North American International Auto Show last month.
Even a slap on the face doesn't seem to deter buyers from visiting their local Toyota dealers. Last year, Consumer Reports removed the Camry fitted with a V-6 engine from its list of recommended cars following a surge of complaints about transmission trouble.
Even though more Camry owners are starting to look at the competition when they are shopping for a new car, the consensus is that buyers continue to like the feel of a comfortable pair of shoes they have worn for a long time. Look for the Camry to remain number 1.
