"Bold Moves" Boldly Gone For New Focus Site

We might call it Ford putting its money where it's mouth's been for the past year or more.

Rather than stamping the '08 Focus mini-site with "Bold Moves" logos - which plays as authentically as a politician claiming "Heroic Deeds" - Ford's fashionista, hip-and-with-it marketing firm has opted for a decidedly cooler approach.

The coolness starts with an advertisement for "Sync," the new Microsoft system that allows the on-board computers in Fords, Lincolns, and Mercurys to hook up with your own personal electronic devices (sorry Jag, Landie, Mazda, and Volvo owners, no Syncopation outside Ford nation).

In an advert, we hear the voice over of one Don LaFontaine tell us "In a time..." while we watch a chummy fellow talk to his anonymous friends about random get-togethers on speaker phone; demonstrating that he's in-sync with the sync system.

Onward in content to the actual site and there are little games one can play. These include, but are not limited to, a hands-on MPG experiment, a click and drag game with a li'l Focus, and the following somewhat suggestive questionaire:

The New ford focus has available Traction Control. Now if you could equate Traction Control to a delicious item you put in your mouth, what would it be?

Option A: Image of a stick of butter

Option B: Image of a stick of gum

Option C: Image of a banana peel

Strangely phallic games aside, the site's worth a look. And certainly bolder than ever before.
