Does the world really need a BMW 1-Series SUV? BMW certainly thinks so. The Roundel is set to slot yet another sport ute - sorry sport activity vehicle - beneath the X3.
And according to CAR magazine this is the way BMW is set to operate for the foreseeable future.
"BMWs in wellington boots might offend purists, but under chairman Norbert Reithofer's new regime anything that sparks profitable growth is positively encouraged," the online scoop read.
Expect plenty of carry-over styling cues from the 1-Series to blended with those of the larger X3. A hybrid of both vehicles, one might successfully think.
Though we'll give it time to see if CAR's PhotoShopped image pans out to be how the production car will go.

I currently have a BMW X3 and would seriously consider buying a X1.
