BMW Takes to the Skies Again

I can assure you this is not the airplane interior I'll be stuffed into when I head for the Pebble Beach Classics in August. Instead, it's a rendering of an Airbus A350 interior, designed with help from BMW. Now, if it seems odd that an aircraft manufacturer would call on an automaker to design the passenger compartment of a new plane, consider this: BMW was in the aircraft industry long before it made cars. Indeed, one of its early planes accomplished an altitude record. Oh, and the logo is meant to resemble a spinning propellor. Autoblog likens it to "something out of Star Trek's Ten Forward Lounge," but to me it simply looks like a nice place to spend a long flight. "Another champagne, please, miss."
