Further proof that the Bavarian automaker enjoys perennial popularity among the world's elitist car consumers has arrived in the form of an announcement from Woodcliff Lake, new jersey: this month the Blue Roundel sold its 500,000th Certified Pre-Owned BMW in North America.
The special designation indicates a thorough dealership inspection of a used model which if approved for resale under the Certified Pre-Owner program receives the factory blessing of a two year, 50K mile warranty.
Last year alone saw more than 80,000 "CPO" units snapped up by American and Canadian Teutonphiles.
Curiously, BMW announced neither the owner's identity nor the model of the 500,000th CPO vehicle sold.
