Audi in LA
Another report from the front lines at the LA Auto Show.
Audi was particularly assertive at the show this year, with the North American premiere of the new Q7 (pictured) and S8 sedan, hot off of the Frankfurt show floor.
The Q7 is Audi's take on the crossover vehicle, presumably to occupy the narrow gap between the VW Touareg and Porsche Cayenne. Under the hood is a 4.2 Liter 350 hp V8 driving all four wheels with 324.5 lb ft of torque through Audi's newly refined quattro system, permanent all-wheel drive. Pricing should be announced soon — expect it to split the difference between VW (base price $37,320) and Porsche (base price $42,000). The vehicle is gorgeous, but hardly ground-breaking. It could be a case of "me-too" carried off a little too late. Time will tell — the Q7 will hit showroom floors later this spring as a 2007 model.

I was at the LA Auto Show this year and must admit they has the best display for 2007. I think Audi and Mercedes both had he biggest crowds. Ususlly BMW takes the cake but not this year.
