What is it with Volkswagen? Or more precisely what is it with the Naming Department or whatever you call the area responsible for giving monikers to vehicles?
The Routan? Isn't that the name of a cigar or something?
VW earlier today rolled out one of the featured premiers of the Chicago Auto Show. The Routan, is VW's badge-engineered version of Chrysler's Dodge Grand Caravan and the Chrysler Town & Country and VW's first-ever true minivan.
The Routan is part of VW's new strategy to grow sales in the U.S. The company's goal? Some 800,000 sales a year by the year 2018.
Wait a minute, Routan, Touran. The Touran stands for the combination of "touring" and "sedan". What actually does Routan stand for?
