A Lancia for Chrysler? We Insist!

Lancia Delta

There has been endless speculation regarding which models Fiat will bring into the Chrysler showrooms and whether they will carry a Fiat or Pentastar badge. The Italian firm certainly has plenty to choose from among the wide range of vehicles it manufactures for various world markets. Yet who would have thought Lancia might be among them? Not that it isn't an historic marque with a great pedigree, especially in rallying, but Lancia has always been a bit too far out of the box for North American tastes. Nevertheless the rumour mill has it that this racy-looking Delta 4-door hatchback is indeed headed our way and if that be true, there's hope for the grand old American company after all. Together with the desireable Fiat 500 and some Alfa-Romeos, the Lancia could have folks beating down the door to buy one. Heck, even the Lancia grille looks a match for Chrysler's traditional logo dating back to Walter P's glory days. Note: Lancia CEO Olivier Francois has been named as new head of the Chrysler motor division. The odds in favour of a Chrysler Delta have just gone up.
